Facebook Update

Yeah, it got me. Facebook hijacked my life for a brief period, and I am slowly setting limits as to how much time I spend/waste there. I had no idea so many people missed me. Facebook=big hug. Awwwwwwwwwwww.

-2 degrees

That is what the thermometer in my car said this morning as I drove home from work. Today's high is somewhere short of 20 degrees. And that is with bright sunshine.

I know its only been a few days of these very cold temperatures, but I am really hating it. Feels like chocolate chip cookie weather. Or hot cocoa weather. Or under a pile of blankets weather.

I recently joined Facebook, after a little coaxing from my friend Joe. It has eaten up a lot of my free time this week. I've been playing games mostly, and updating my profile and chatting with people I normally do. For me, its kind of awkward to be "friends" with people I haven't spoken with or seen in years, so I'm not letting my staggering friend count (19, jealous?)go to my head.

Anyway, brrrrrrrrr, and I think I hear my blanket calling me.

I borrowed Double D's Digital SLR

He was gracious enough to let me borrow his camera to shoot some pictures at my kids' school, for a few basketball games. It was tougher than I expected. I thought I was doing pretty well, but catching a moving target, let alone getting it in focus, is a little bit beyond my abilities right now. Until now, I had only used cameras with auto-zoom and auto-focus, so this was new territory for me. I shot a lot of pictures during the games, and I figured they would all be good. Not the case. A lot of them were slightly out of focus, which sucked. I did get some good pics, which I will use in the slide show I am putting together for the school's Athletic Awards in May.

Thanks, DD.

Here are a few of the pics I shot.
